Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
1001627702 ONTARIO INC., operating as Qoro (“Qoro,” “we,” “us”), is an Ontario numbered corporation that operates a marketplace connecting customers with skilled-trade service providers in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
From customers
- Name, email, phone, service address, billing details (when payments are wired in)
- Job descriptions, photos, and notes you post when requesting a quote
- Booking history, ratings, and reviews you leave for providers
From providers
- Identity documents (selfie, government ID, work authorization) submitted during verification
- Trade qualifications, licenses, certifications, resumes
- Banking or payout details (Interac e-Transfer email or bank info — these will be handled exclusively by our payments processor in production)
- Profile photo, bio, weekly availability, and trade area
2. How we use your information
- To match you with providers (or with customers, if you're a provider)
- To process bookings, payments, and payouts
- To verify provider identity and right to work
- To enforce our Terms of Service, prevent fraud, and investigate disputes
- To send you transactional emails (booking status, quote received, etc.)
3. How we share your information
We share information only as needed to operate the marketplace. Specifically:
- Customer info shared with providers is progressively disclosed: city + first name during quoting; postal code after the provider confirms; full address and phone within 4 hours of the scheduled service or once the job is in progress.
- Provider profile info (photo, name, rating, completed jobs, bio, trade) is shown to customers reviewing quotes. Identity verification documents are never shown to customers — only Qoro's admin team.
- Payment details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe in production); Qoro does not store full bank or card numbers.
- Legal obligations: we may disclose information when required by Canadian law, court order, or government request.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we protect your information
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) for everything that touches our servers
- Identity documents are encrypted at rest and access is restricted to authorized Qoro staff for verification
- Payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant providers; Qoro doesn't store raw card or bank numbers
- We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law
5. Your rights under PIPEDA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and ask how it's been used
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and personal information (subject to retention obligations)
- Withdraw consent for non-essential uses (note: this may limit our ability to provide the service)
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca
6. Cookies, analytics, and session recording
Qoro uses cookies and similar technologies for three reasons: keeping you signed in, preventing fraud, and understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. We don't use advertising cookies and we don't sell tracking data.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure aggregate traffic: how many people visit, which pages they look at, which referral sources brought them here, and which devices and browsers they use. GA4 sets a first-party cookie (_ga and related identifiers) and collects an anonymized IP address, page URL, referrer, screen size, and device type. We don't link this data to your Qoro account. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymous session replays (a screen recording of your visit, with mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls) and to generate heatmaps showing which parts of a page people interact with. Clarity helps us find broken flows and confusing layouts. Clarity automatically masks sensitive input fields by default, including passwords, credit card numbers, email addresses, and phone numbers, so they don't appear in recordings. Clarity does not link recordings to your Qoro account. You can opt out by enabling Microsoft's privacy controls or by blocking the clarity.ms domain in your browser or an ad-blocker.
You can also opt out of all non-essential tracking by enabling your browser's “Do Not Track” or global privacy control setting; we honor these signals where technically possible. Essential cookies (sign-in, fraud prevention) cannot be disabled because the site won't function without them.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers store and process data outside Canada. Specifically: Stripe (United States) processes payments; Resend (United States) sends transactional email; Supabase (host region: United States) stores our application database and uploaded files; Google Analytics (United States) and Microsoft Clarity (United States) handle the analytics described in section 6. When personal information leaves Canada, it is protected by contractual safeguards consistent with PIPEDA, and the providers above have published privacy terms we have reviewed.
8. Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be emailed to active users.
