For customers
How does booking on Qoro work?▾
Pick a service, fill in date, time, address, notes, and photos, then post a quote request — that's free. Verified providers in your area review the request and send quotes. Compare them side-by-side (price, photo, rating, jobs completed), and chat with as many providers as you like before committing. When you hire one, no fee is charged yet. Once they confirm the final amount and date, you pay a small booking fee that's credited toward your final price.
What does the "From $X" price next to each service mean?▾
It's a starting price for labour only — meaning the lowest amount providers typically quote for the simplest version of that job. Your actual quote may be higher depending on the specifics of your job (more cameras, harder access, longer cable runs, etc.). The starting price does NOT include materials. If you don't already have the materials, your provider will quote those separately.
How does materials pricing work?▾
When you post a request, you choose either "I already have materials" or "I need materials included." If you have everything, providers quote labour only and you pay them for labour through Qoro. If you need materials included, providers give one combined quote that covers both labour AND equipment, and you pay the full quote through Qoro. Either way, no off-platform money flows.
How much is the booking fee?▾
Two parts. (1) Booking fee: a flat 10% of your accepted labour quote, with a $10 minimum and a $1,000 cap. This is credited toward the final amount, so it's not an extra charge — it's just paid as a deposit at hire-time. (2) A flat $2 platform fee on top of your quote, paid once at hire-time, which covers payment processing. The remaining labour balance is charged to your saved card automatically when your provider marks the job complete — you'll get an emailed receipt and 7 days to open a dispute if anything is wrong. So a $200 job costs you $202 total — $20 booking fee deposit + $2 platform fee at hire, then $180 auto-charged at completion.
What if the provider needs to change the price after seeing the site?▾
Security work sometimes needs an on-site assessment. If the provider needs to revise the price, they'll request your approval first — you can accept the revision, or reject it and cancel the booking. If you reject, the booking fee is forfeited (it compensates the provider for the site visit). You can dispute an unreasonable revision by emailing support@qoro.ca.
What's your cancellation policy?▾
If you cancel more than 8 hours before the scheduled start, you get a full refund of the booking fee. Within 8 hours, the booking fee is non-refundable. If the provider cancels, you're always fully refunded. Once a job is in progress, you can't cancel from the app — email support@qoro.ca.
How do you protect my privacy?▾
Provider sees only your city and first name when quoting. Once they confirm the booking, they see your postal code (so they can plan their route). Full street address and phone are revealed only within 4 hours of the scheduled start, or when the job is in progress. We never share your information off-platform.
Are providers verified?▾
Yes. Every provider clears identity verification (live selfie matched to a government ID), trade-license review, and a profile completion gate before they can quote. Verified providers wear a Verified badge on their profile.
What if something's wrong with the work?▾
Email support@qoro.ca and our team will mediate between you and the provider. Because the chats, photos, and timeline are all on file, we can usually facilitate a resolution quickly. Off-platform work isn't covered — we can only help with bookings made through Qoro.
For providers
How do I become a Qoro provider?▾
Sign up at /providers, submit your application (resume + license + work-authorization status), and our team reviews. If approved, you complete identity verification (live selfie + government ID), then a profile setup (photo, bio, weekly availability, payout method). Once all four gates are clear, your dashboard unlocks and you can start receiving job requests.
When and how do I get paid?▾
Qoro batches weekly payouts to your direct-deposit account on Fridays for jobs completed Mon-Thu of that week. The full quote you agreed to (labour, plus materials if part of scope) is paid out minus the booking-fee credit the customer already paid through Qoro. No off-platform money flows.
What does Qoro charge?▾
One booking fee per job — 10% of your accepted labour quote, with a $10 minimum and a $1,000 cap. The customer also pays a flat $2 platform fee on top of your quote (covers payment processing and platform operations) — that comes out of their bill, not yours. The exact numbers are shown before you accept any job, so no surprises. New providers who sign up before July 1, 2026 get their first 30 days fee-free as a founding-cohort offer.
What if the customer cancels?▾
If the customer cancels more than 8 hours before scheduled start, they're refunded. Within 8 hours, the booking fee is forfeited and you receive the bulk of it as cancellation compensation. If you need to cancel, the customer is fully refunded and your rating is impacted.
Can I solicit Qoro customers off the platform?▾
No. Doing so is grounds for permanent removal from the network and forfeiture of any pending payouts. We monitor for patterns of off-platform attrition. Reputation, ratings, and the Verified badge all live on Qoro only.
